NEW PRESCRIPTIONS SERVICE STARTING FROM WEDNESDAY 22ND OCTOBER 2025

Following feedback from our patients and patient participation group we have been working with our receptionists and upskilling their ability to manage prescription requests.

Currently the only way to get a repeat prescription over the phone is via POD on their number 03333 583 509 (local rate number).

We are delighted to announce that starting on Wednesday 22nd October we are planning to offer a Prescription Hotline as an additional option to our patients for ordering repeat prescriptions by simply calling the practice from 10.30 to 5pm Monday to Friday as an alternative to POD.

So to summarise the easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:

Online Requests

*using our Online System powered by Accurx. https://florey.accurx.com/p/M82043
Online messages will be read by a member of the team within 2 working days and can be sent at anytime 24hours a day and 7 days a week.

using your NHS App or  NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App). The App will send the practice a message. Online messages from the NHS App will be read by a member of the team within 2 working days and can be sent at anytime 24hours a day and 7 days a week.

Following feedback from patients we are reinstating the option to send us an email – portcullis.surgery@nhs.net for repeat prescriptions ONLY
(please be aware we are unable to give medical advice using this email (medical queries are via ACCURX please)

Paper requests:

Of course you can still bring the paper form to the surgery and leave it in our black box, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6.30pm

Phone requests:

At the moment until Wednesday 22nd October all phone requests for repeat prescriptions should be directed to POD only: POD on 03333 583 509 (local rate number)
