The Advent Calendarlogo

This Christmas Portcullis Surgery staff are Reversing their Advent Calendar in aid of Ludlow Foodbank and encouraging their patients to join them! This year, GPs and staff at Portcullis Surgery in Ludlow have decided to create an Advent Calender in reverse.

The idea is simple:
beginning on 20th November and running for a month, on each working day members of staff will bring a Christmas treat food item to be collected at the surgery. In December all these donations will be given to the Food Bank run by Churches Together Around Ludlow. The Food Bank will then distribute the donated goods to those most in need in the local community in the run up to Christmas.

Dr Beanland said, ” Personally I feel that Christmas is about the joy of giving to others as well as receiving gifts and we hope these donations will provide a boost to the excellent service provided by Ludlow Foodbank to help families in need in the community.”

Do you feel inspired by the staff of the GP Surgery to donate to the Food Bank? You can make your donation directly to the Food Bank at Rockspring Community Centre, Sandford Road, Ludlow.

Some suggestions for non-perishable Christmas treats are:
box of chocolates, packet of nuts, pack of cheese crackers/biscuits, Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, crisps, chocolate pudding, bag of snacks, mince pies.
